Our Pacific Palisades Moving Services

A Palisades move today can start in a rental and end in a rebuilt house, or run the other way. Here is how each service fits those trips, and moves out of the neighborhood altogether.

Overview

Professional Movers in Pacific Palisades

Pacific Palisades is a neighborhood of the City of Los Angeles, not a separate city. It lies between the Santa Monica Mountains and Santa Monica Bay, about 20 miles west of downtown, on hilly ground with the Temescal, Santa Ynez and Rustic canyons and about three miles of coastline.

Its named areas include the Village, the Alphabet Streets, Marquez Knolls, El Medio Mesa, El Medio Bluffs, Via Bluffs, the Huntington Palisades, Castellammare, Rustic Canyon, the Riviera and the Palisades Highlands. The Palisades Fire started on January 7, 2025, burned 23,448 acres and was fully contained on January 31, according to CAL FIRE.

The rebuild now sets the pace for moves here. LADBS figures reported by FOX 11 on July 7, 2026 showed rebuilding permits for 1,419 Palisades properties and certificates of occupancy, which allow residents to move back in, for 28 addresses. Whether you are moving out to temporary housing, between rentals or back home, we plan the job around where your house and your street stand in that process.

WHY HIRE US IN THE PALISADES

What Green Moving Brings to a Palisades Move

Four practical things that matter when your street is under construction and your move has two ends.
Two Trips, One PlanWhen you book the move to a rental, we note the house address and the builder's target date, so planning the move home starts from what we already know.
Hourly Rates in Plain ViewRates by crew size and day of the week are published on our pricing page, with a 3-hour minimum and no separate fuel surcharge, equipment fee or stair fee.
Licensed, With COIs on RequestGreen Moving holds permit CAL-T201327 from the Bureau of Household Goods and Services and USDOT 4312802, and issues a certificate of insurance for $50 per building when an association or property manager requires one.
Arrival Times Set AheadYou hear the arrival window 24 to 48 hours before the move, and the crew calls 30 minutes out, which gives you time to alert a gate or clear the curb.

What Pacific Palisades Clients Say

So efficient AND cost efficient! They moved VERY large pieces we were nervous about moving so quickly it was insane. In narrow hallways too! They are beasts. Very happy I went with them!

Review from Yelp
Highly recommend this team! I had another mover who unfortunately fell through at the move site. The team helped me same day. The crew was very respectful to me and the other property owners. They made the entire experience wonderful and turned my regret with the last company around.

Review from Yelp
Very glad we chose this company, they were punctual, efficient, and very careful with all of our items, including large furniture, framed artwork and plants. They accommodated any and all requests and had plenty of space in their truck for all of our items.

How a Palisades Move Comes Together

Five steps from the first call to the last room, planned around the rebuild.
01

Where You Are, Where You Are Going

Tell us about both ends of the move, whether that is a rental, a rebuilt house or a home outside the Palisades, and the date you are aiming for.
02

Curb, Gate and Contractors

We ask where the truck can stand at each address, whether a gate or association needs notice, and whether builders are working on the same block.
03

A Start Time That Fits

We set the start time with traffic on Sunset Boulevard and PCH in mind, then confirm your arrival window 24 to 48 hours ahead.
04

Wrapped and Loaded

Furniture is wrapped in blankets and stretch wrap, and pieces that need it are taken apart for the truck and reassembled at the other end.
05

Rooms Set Up

Furniture goes where you want it, and if you booked unpacking, the crew starts with the kitchen and bedrooms.

frequently Asked Questions

Can't find the answer to your question?
LADOT's FAQ tells people who want information about requesting temporary No Parking signs to call its Special Traffic Control Division; the Palisades is a City of Los Angeles neighborhood, not a separate city. Before you call, we can tell you which stretch of curb the truck needs at each address.
Yes, as two separate moves: one to the temporary home now and one back when the house is ready. Residents can move back into a rebuilt home once it has a certificate of occupancy, so we suggest setting the return date after that certificate is issued.
That depends on your policy. According to the California Department of Insurance, after a state of emergency additional living expenses coverage lasts at least 24 months, plus a 12-month extension if reconstruction is delayed by circumstances beyond your control, and it can include relocation costs. Some policies have a dollar limit that can run out sooner, so ask your insurer what it needs from the mover before you book.
Yes. The commercial Village is centered at Sunset Boulevard and Via de la Paz and falls under the City's Pacific Palisades Commercial Village and Neighborhood Specific Plan. Palisades Village, the retail and dining center developed by Rick Caruso, closed after the January 2025 fire and reopened to the public in August 2026. Business moves can be scheduled after hours, away from daytime traffic at that intersection.
It can. LADWP work narrowed Sunset Boulevard in the Palisades repeatedly in 2026: in April crews resumed laying conduit for the Sunset Boulevard 'Backbone' corridor, and Council District 11 announced potholing and vault installation between Amalfi Drive and Napoli Drive for August 17 to 30, with one lane open each way. Before a move that uses Sunset, we check the latest closures and set the start time around them.
Since the fire, rain has brought mud and debris onto the highways around the Palisades. Caltrans lists storms in February, March and April 2025 that caused mudslides and debris flows on PCH and Topanga Canyon Boulevard, and in February 2025 PCH was fully closed between Chautauqua Boulevard and Carbon Beach Terrace. When rain is forecast, we check road conditions the day before and agree on the route and start time with you.

Pacific Palisades Movers During the Rebuild

Pacific Palisades Movers During the Rebuild

During the rebuild, we plan three kinds of Palisades trips: out to a temporary home, between rentals while construction goes on, and back into a finished house. The third became possible on November 21, 2025, when LADBS issued the first certificate of occupancy for a home rebuilt in Pacific Palisades, as Mayor Karen Bass announced. All three meet the same conditions on the street.

Curb Space on Streets Under Construction

The City's Logistics, Traffic, Parking and Communications Plan for the Palisades covers curb space, contractor parking and temporary staging during the rebuild. To cope with limited street width and heavy construction, it lists contractor parking areas, temporary curb use zones, protection for residents' access and consolidated staging areas where feasible, while noting that many of its projects are still preliminary.

Builders also need a Building Materials Permit to keep materials in the public right-of-way, and the City weighs their size, type and how long they stay. A few days before the move, tell us what is going on at both ends of the block, and we will point out the stretch of curb the truck needs so you can arrange to keep it clear.

Gates in the Highlands, Rules in the Huntington

The Summit at Palisades Highlands is a collection of 315 single-family homes, and within it sit four gated mini-communities: The Enclave, which has a guard facility and a private entrance, The Peninsula, Seascapes and Altamira. The community's site lists an entrance on Palisades Drive at Chastain Parkway.

According to AP, only two paved roads connect the Highlands with the rest of Los Angeles: four-lane Palisades Drive and Fire Drive, a narrow two-lane road. We plan the truck's way in and out on Palisades Drive. For an address behind a gate, ask the association how vendors are let in, which hours it allows moves and whether it wants a certificate of insurance; ours costs $50 per building.

In the Huntington Palisades, the property owners' organization, HPPOC, says completing its plan review and approval process is one of the first steps in rebuilding after the fire, and its rules mainly concern a home's exterior. For owners there, the move home comes at the far end of that process, after the certificate of occupancy.

The Move Out, and the Move Home

The trip to a rental and the trip back are separate jobs, and the first one sets up the second. Before the move out, sort boxes into two groups: what you will open in the rental and what can stay sealed until the house is finished. Label the sealed ones with the room they belong to in the new house, and the return trip needs far less repacking.

A rebuilt house is new inside, with fresh floors, paint and door frames. On move-in day the crew puts down floor protection and doorway guards before the first piece comes through, just as on our other residential moves, and if unpacking is part of the booking, the rooms you need that night come first.

Sunset, PCH and Timing

The City's rebuild traffic analysis of 17 intersections along corridors including Sunset Boulevard, PCH, Temescal Canyon and Chautauqua found several near or at capacity under normal conditions, with Sunset and Via de la Paz in the Village frequently near capacity, and warns that construction traffic and lane demands could further reduce reliability. The Brentwood Alliance, a community group, calls the Sunset corridor from PCH to the I-405 one of the most congested commutes in the City.

Caltrans opened PCH through the fire area for public use, with traffic controls, on May 23, 2025. A Caltrans schedule posted by the City of Malibu for August 23 to 30, 2026 still showed weekday repairs between Las Flores Canyon Road and Sunset and weeknight closures of northbound PCH between Sunset and Porto Marina Way, with both directions sharing the southbound lanes. Before any move that uses PCH, we check that week's schedule.

For rebuild projects, LADOT recommends scheduling truck deliveries between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, so we set Palisades start times knowing when construction trucks are asked to arrive. Moves within the Palisades and to nearby parts of Los Angeles County are billed by the hour with a 3-hour minimum, or 4 hours when the job is 30 or more miles from our service area, and rates are on our pricing page.

Cross-Country Moves From the Palisades

For trips east, PCH leads to the McClure Tunnel in Santa Monica, which joins it to the western end of I-10, the Santa Monica Freeway, and I-10 runs across the country to Jacksonville, Florida. For trips north, Sunset Boulevard links the Palisades with I-405, which crosses the Sepulveda Pass into the San Fernando Valley, meets US 101 in Sherman Oaks and merges with I-5 in Sylmar.

A move to another state is priced on a binding estimate rather than by the hour: distance, weight and the services you add set the price, and we move households to all 50 states, as our long-distance moving page explains. The Palisades end of a cross-country move still depends on the curb, gate and traffic conditions above, so mention them when you ask for the estimate.
